Take a UCSD Audio workshop with industry professionals, learn Beatmaking, Film Composing and Podcasting this summer!

BEATMAKING

Any community members interested in learning about music production for hip hop, EDM, and other pop music are welcome, whether they are total beginners wanting to get started or those with previous experience looking to take their skills to the next level.

This fellowship is free, and participants receive a $200 stipend upon completion of each session.

Interested youth (ages 13+) can apply, though all ages are accepted! Classes are held twice a week at the City Heights Library and Logan Heights Branch Library.

FILM COMPOSING

Any community members interested in learning techniques for creating and setting music to film with the guidance of an experienced composer should apply!

Whether you are a total beginner wanting to get started or have previous experience and are looking to take your skills to the next level, this class is for you.

This fellowship is free, and participants receive a $150 stipend upon completion of each session.

Interested youth (ages 16+) can apply, though all ages are accepted! Classes are held twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at the City Heights Library and Malcolm X Branch Library.

PODCASTING

UCSD will be teaching this class in the City Heights Library’s new Idea Lab. Any community members interested in learning about podcasting are welcome, whether they are total beginners wanting to get started or individuals with previous experience looking to take their skills to the next level. Participants will learn about storyboarding, basic recording and editing, setting music to narrative, and more.

This fellowship is free, and participants receive a $150 stipend upon completion of each session. Walk-ins are welcome.

Interested youth (ages 16+) can apply, though all ages are accepted! Classes are held once a week, on Saturdays from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at the City Heights Library. Sign up for one of the three sessions:
