Workforce Development Initiative (WDI)

This six-week course and paid internship provide participants with workforce-related training in media arts.

April 4th – May 13
May 16th – June 24th

The Workforce Development Initiative is a partnership between the Media Arts Center San Diego, the City of San Diego and City Libraries. Program participants (ages 16-24) take part in a six-week crash course centered on technical skills needed to obtain employment in the media arts field. Ranging from videography to photography and A/V event services, this training gives students hands-on experience with equipment and the opportunity to learn from local media arts professionals. Upon completion of the six-week course, program participants are considered for a three-month paid media arts internship within Public Library IDEA Labs, City program offices, or local non-profits.
